Our Journey: Decades of Innovation and Excellence in Truck Manufacturing

For over 75 years, Engine & Accessory, Inc. (EAM) has led the evolution of custom chassis and truck manufacturing. From our humble beginnings as an industrial engine rebuilding company to becoming a trusted global manufacturer in aviation, fuel, chemical transport, vacuum, and fire industries, our journey has been marked by innovation, precision, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

1950s – The Birth of Engine & Accessory, Inc.

Founded in 1950 in Miami, Florida, Engine & Accessory, Inc. started as a specialized industrial engine rebuilding company, catering to businesses needing high-performance engine restoration. The company quickly gained a reputation for precision craftsmanship and mechanical expertise, which laid the foundation for an expansion into full-scale truck rebuilding and repair. Our work during this era set the stage for decades of innovation, proving that we were more than just an engine shop—we were problem solvers in the world of heavy-duty vehicles.

1960s – Strengthening Our Engineering Capabilities

With a growing demand for truck and engine repair, EAM expanded its service capabilities throughout the 1960s. As the transportation and logistics industries became more reliant on durable and efficient vehicles, we invested in advanced manufacturing techniques to improve repair processes and extend the lifespan of trucks. This period was crucial in refining our engineering standards, ensuring that every vehicle we worked on could withstand the rigors of heavy-duty operations.

1970s – Breaking into the Aviation Industry

As the aviation industry soared, EAM adapted. In the 1970s, we diversified into aircraft refueling systems, specializing in refueler repair and refurbishment. With a skilled engineering team, we developed cutting-edge solutions to enhance fuel delivery efficiency and vehicle durability. This expansion positioned EAM as a reliable partner for airlines and fuel providers, strengthening our reputation in the industry.

1980s – Pioneering Custom Chassis Development

Building on our aviation expertise, EAM entered a new era of custom chassis design in the 1980s. We leveraged our deep knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles to manufacture a new-generation chassis that revolutionized the aircraft refueling industry. These innovations improved vehicle stability, efficiency, and performance, making EAM a key player in custom-engineered vehicle solutions.

1990s – Scaling Production & Meeting Global Demand

As demand for custom chassis solutions surged, EAM expanded its product line to accommodate major airlines and oil companies. By the late 1990s, production had grown so significantly that we constructed a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Miami, FL. This new facility allowed us to enhance production speed, efficiency, and quality, meeting the growing needs of our customers while preparing for future expansions.

2000s – Expanding into New Markets

The 2000s marked a pivotal moment for EAM as we diversified beyond aviation and into new markets. Our engineering team began designing and manufacturing specialized tank trucks for fuel, heating oil, chemical transport, vacuum, and fire industries. These expansions positioned us as an industry leader in liquid transport solutions, helping businesses across the U.S. with reliable, high-performance vehicles tailored to their unique needs.

2010s – A Family Legacy & Workforce Growth

With over six decades of experience, EAM became a third-generation, family-owned business, continuing its commitment to cutting-edge manufacturing and exceptional customer service. Our company culture revolved around innovation, precision, and teamwork, fostering a dedicated workforce of engineers, craftsmen, and fabricators. We continued expanding our custom vehicle offerings, developing new technologies to enhance efficiency and reliability.

2020s – Digital Innovation & Global Expansion

In the 2020s, EAM took another leap forward by embracing digital innovation and expanding globally. We launched our first e-commerce storefront, enabling customers worldwide to access our custom parts and vehicle solutions with ease. To enhance efficiency, we invested in automated assembly systems, streamlining production while maintaining our commitment to quality and durability. Additionally, we expanded our truck production capabilities to custom-build dump trucks, further broadening our portfolio of industry-leading vehicles.

Today – Engineering the Future of Custom Vehicles

With 3,427 customers worldwide, EAM continues to push the boundaries of custom truck manufacturing. From heavy-duty refuelers to specialized tank trucks and dump trucks, we remain committed to engineering excellence, customer satisfaction, and industry leadership. As we move forward, our mission remains the same: to innovate, to build with precision, and to exceed expectations every step of the way.
